2009 Samsara "Turner Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah

The 2009 Syrah Turner is a more immediate wine than the Melville, with more overt fruit and less tannic heft. It shows gorgeous purity in its fruit and fabulous overall balance. In 2009, the Turner Syrah is fleshy, radiant and full of varietal character. Chad Melville used 100% whole clusters here, but kept the new French oak at just 10%. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (AG)
