2007 Michel Loriot "Monodie Meunier" Extra Brut Champagne

The fruit for the ‰ÛÏMonodie Meunier‰۝ comes from a single vineyard site that was planted during WWII in 1942. Not only is it incredible that someone planted a vineyard during the war, but they planted an incredible vineyard of massal selections vines that never got ripped out and replaced by clones as much of Champagne was in the 70‰۪s. Its old vine character shines through with hints of smoke, salt and flint accompanied by flavors of quince, apple and cherry. This has fantastic structure and depth that will allow it to age gracefully in your cellar.
