2005 York Creek "Madrone" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2005 Madrone is maybe the most ‰ÛÏmountainy‰۝ of the three current York Creek wines with notes of fresh mint, Porcini mushroom, hazelnuts and lots of scrub brush over a well of dried red currants. White this wine may sound a little rugged, it is anything but once on the palate, with very feminine and soft flavors of clay, blueberry, violet and tobacco. Seamless and fully realized, with a long complex finish of lifted red berries, cigar tobacco and sweet licorice, this is a wine that is at the peak of its drinking window.
