2005 d'Aiguilhe Querre, C̫tes de Castillon

This tiny property of under six acres produces a wine made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Supple tannins, sweet blackberry and cassis fruit, plenty of chalky minerality, and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel make for a classic, full-throttle, bigger-than-normal wine from this estate. It should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years. A sleeper of the vintage. (RP)
