2013 Vincent Girardin Volnay "Santenots" 1er Cru

Good dark red. Inviting, expressive aromas and flavors of black cherry and dark chocolate complicated by notes of mint, leather and violet. Concentrated and vinous; dense and rich but seamless, conveying excellent vinosity. Finishes with substantial but suave tannins that avoid the dryness of so many C̫te de Beaune wines from this vintage. A lovely set of Volnays here. (ST)
