2013 Le Battistelle "Battistelle" Soave Classico

Seeing as I tend to drink more white than red wine, I am always on the lookout for interesting and tasty new wines that are going to be good table wines for my house. This wine hits all of those boxes and delivers a lot more than the price tag would have you believe. Wonderfully aromatic on the nose, this wine hints at white stone fruit, apple, and ash from the volcanic soil the vines are grown on. A little smoke in here gives it weight and the minerality helps to drive the wine forward. Despite being at the price of a table white, this wine also can easily be aged, so it is not a bad idea to stock a few.
