2013 Jax "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Again, following my love for the Jax Y3 Taureau, I'm very impressed by this wine because of its restraint. You get the full-bodied red fruit right on the entry, an opulent note of ripe fruit, but it's never sweet and it's never cloying. This is Napa Cabernet that drinks like it's supposed to and costs what it should. You get every penny of what you pay for here: a pure expression of the varietal, from a superb vineyard site in Calistoga, made with precision by winemaker Kirk Venge. Bravo. I wish all California cab tasted like this.
