2013 Domaine Perrot Minot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes

The 2013 Charmes-Chambertin is another powerful wine, with raw tannins and distinctly savage overtones. Game, smoke, tobacco, menthol and red cherries emerge, but with great reluctance. This towering, structured Charmes will likely repay cellaring handsomely. I have to say, this is a bit of an uncharacteristic showing for a wine that is usually more finessed. (AG)
