2013 Domaine J. Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Tr̬s Vielles Vignes

Good deep red. Aromas of black cherry, minerals and smoky oak. Plush and sweet but energetic too, boasting terrific concentration to its deep, primary flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, licorice, minerals and dried flowers. With its creamy old-vines intensity and inner-mouth tension, this wine made me shiver. Big, broad, dusty tannins will hold this grand cru for many years. A very strong performance but will it eventually display the nuance for an even higher score? (ST)
