2013 Domaine Faiveley Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges"

Healthy medium red. High-pitched perfume of raspberry, cranberry and spices complicated by deeper notes of smoky underbrush. Juicy, nervy, brisk and tight; this was silkier and fleshier in the barrel a year ago but is distinctly imploded today. The tart cranberry and pomegranate flavors are further sharpened by a note of rhubarb. Very intense wine, but its strong acidity and firm-edged tannins call for considerable patience. (ST)
