2013 C̩cile Chassagne Gigondas

Bright ruby-red. Heady smoke- and spice-accented aromas of dark fruit preserves, mustard seed, white pepper and lavender are enlivened by a mineral nuance. Palate-coating blueberry and cherry compote flavors are lifted by smoky mineral and floral nuances. Expands and deepens on the finish, which is framed by smooth, subtle tannins. This sexy, floral wine should be appealing on the young side but it also looks like it has the depth to age. (JR)
