2012 Rosi Schuster Sankt Laurent Burgenland

I don't know if St. Laurent is my achilles heel, but all of these Austrian reds these days taste superb. This 2012 Schuster is precise and absolutely delicious. One taste and its clear that an exceptional team took advantage of every oppourtunity afforded to them by nature to make this wine. Tons of mineral and earth on the nose. Blood. Raspberry preserve. The intensity continues on the palate with medicinal herbs and earth red fruit. Textured and full of life. Medium bodied. Maybe a hard wine to love, but with lots to give. A wonderful pairing for fall flavors. Don't be surprised when this and the next vintage disappear!
