2012 Gundlach Bundschu "Mountain Cuv̩e" Sonoma County Red Blend

A California C̫tes du Rh̫ne look-alike, the 2012 Mountain Cuv̩e is a blend of 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 8% Zinfandel and the rest small dollops of Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Malbec aged 14 months in mostly French oak. It reveals spicy, peppery, meaty notes intermixed with hints of Proven̤al herbs, dense black cherry and plum-like fruit, medium to full body, an attractive texture, and a seductive finish. (RP)
