2012 Chehalem "Three Vineyard" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Brilliant ruby-red. Spice-accented red berry and floral pastille aromas show good clarity and a touch of succulent herbs. Silky and sweet on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Refreshingly bitter on the finish, firmed by gentle tannins and a touch of dusty minerals. This nervy pinot reminded me a lot of a Pernand-Vergelesses. (JR)
