2012 Ancient Peaks "Oyster Ridge-Margarita Vineyard" Bordeaux Blend

Dark purple. Powerful, slow-to-open aromas of cassis, cherry compote and licorice, with a smoky topnote. Chewy and tightly wound, offering concentrated dark berry and bitter cherry flavors and a suggestion of fruitcake. Shows very good energy on the clinging, youthfully tannic finish, which features a suggestion of dark chocolate. (JR)
