2010 Scarecrow "M. Ìätain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Scarecrow is the product of the vineyards of the legendary JJ Cohn (think Wizard of Oz) and the name pays tribute to him. The vineyards are equally remarkable and historied. When John Daniel Jr. convinced his neighbor JJ Cohn to plant these vineyards in 1945 he may have known the potential. The vineyards provided fruit for many spectacular wines including the early and magnificent Inglenook Cabernets, and later for many of the iconic Napa Cabs of more modern times. The pre-phyloxera St George rootstock and incredible old vines now produce the fruit for Scarecrow.
