2008 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, which is not yet in bottle, may turn out to be nearly as good. It exhibits a full-bodied power as well as lots of black fruit, licorice, damp earth and spice characteristics. Textured and rich with sweeter tannin and more upfront appeal than the 2007, the long, impressive 2008 should age for 20-25 years. (RP)
