2008 Arthur Marc "Perla Nera" Vintage Brut Champagne

This is powerful Pinot! 100% Grand Cru Pinot Noir is some serious stuff, and this bottle lets you know just how dense and concentrated of a wine the chalky soils of Champagne can make. The nose is crushed rock and Bing cherry, red fruited and bold. On the palate the cherry continues, wrapped in dense mineral notes, with fig and plum adding layers. This wine is wound very tightly right now, very much built for the cellar, this would also be a wonderful pairing to any dish you would usually serve with a Pinot Noir, salmon or duck would be lovely.
