93 points Wine Enthusiast! 92 points Robert Parker: "Closed but promising, this is a tannic, masculine style of wine in 2006, with an inky bluish/purple color as well as aromas of incense, charcoal, smoked meats, and the classic creme de cassis that one finds in the top Pauillacs." (02/09) 92 points Wine Spectator: "There's an excellent dark color to this, with blowsy, rich aromas of crushed blackberry and currant. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long finish. The center palate will fill in with time. This has lovely balance. Best after 2014." (03/09) K&L's notes - 70% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot, 2% cabernet franc. Much more cabernet in the blend than in 2005. At the property-blackish color and pretty nose of spice and some rose petal. Ripe and fat on the palate with mineral undertones. Good structure and nice mouth feel. Tannins are balanced. Very nice. *1/2+ Ralph Sands: Great sweetness, good depth and roundness all in good, strong harmony. Traditional firm finish. Alex Brisoux: Sweet red fruit, round, well structured, long finish. On 01/23/09: will give 2005 a run! Super rich, full bodied, delicious wine-ager!
