1968 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Medium-deep red. Balsamic cedar and mocha on the nose, with obvious maderization notes. Oddly plush, sweet and deep on entry, then strong acidity gives the middle palate a penetrating, clenched quality. And yet there's still some red fruit remaining in spite of the wine's maderization. Respect! (ST)
